What is KARDO?

KARDO is the name of the boy band that I was in a couple of years ago in Mexico. The style of the group we defined it as a classical, pop, contemporary group; Have you guys ever heard of IL DIVO?... well, we were constantly compared to them so I guess we were the "Mexican" version of that group.

 

This group started just because the four of us knew each other a long time back and we wanted to make something new and original.

We sang a lot of popular spanish covers at first and we started adding a few original songs. Thats where I started evolving my skills as a composer.

 

What does KARDO mean?

 

KARDO is a shortened word (that we created) for Cardinal, as in the 4 Cardinal points; North, South, East, West. So basically the four of us represented those cardinal points symbolizing an expansion that goes in every direction. 

 

 

What happened to the group?

 

Well, after 1 year of successfully performing in many places things started to fall apart because there were a lot of discussions between us, and also we all started to take different paths in our lives; but do you want to know my opinion? 

I blame the haters, a lot of people or so called "friends" started to call out their opinions on the things that were wrong with our group, music wise, the styling,etc...

we even had a record label manager tell us that we had to change the style of our music and voices to a complete other thing. People wanted to turn IL DIVO to NSYNC basically, and none of us were NSYNC, sorry. and I dont say this in a disrespectful way, but; why change a group thats proposing SOMETHING NEW?.

​We were the first Classical pop boy group EVER in Mexico to be created and people (except for the haters) seemed to LOVE and enjoy every minute of it.
